St Mary Redcliffe C of E Primary School

A very warm welcome to St Mary Redcliffe C of E Primary School

Psalm 1:3 'They are like trees that grow beside a stream, they flourish in everything they do'

It is an absolute privilege to serve as Headteacher. From the moment you walk through our gates, I hope you will feel what makes this school special: a warm, welcoming community, full of possibility, where children are known, valued and encouraged to discover what they can achieve.

At St Mary Redcliffe, our vision is "Rooted in Love". For us, this is about much more than being kind and caring. It is about creating a community where children feel that they belong, where they are safe to be themselves and where they are surrounded by adults who believe in them, know their strengths and want the very best for them.

Here at St Mary Redcliffe, we believe something very strongly: love and ambition belong together.  We are unapologetically aspirational for every child and believe that education should be the pathway to a life of choice and opportunity: it should open doors, broaden horizons and give children the knowledge, confidence and character to shape their own futures. We want every child to leave us believing that there are possibilities ahead of them and that they have the power to pursue them.

That means we set high expectations and we mean them. We want our children to be curious, courageous and resilient; to take pride in their learning and in themselves; to work hard and persevere when things are difficult; and never be defined by their starting point. We will challenge them because we believe in them and will give them the support they need to rise to that challenge.

Just as importantly, we want children to leave St Mary Redcliffe C of E Primary School as good human beings. Our values of Hope, Empathy, Aspiration, Respect, Thankfulness and Selflessness are woven through school life. They help us to develop children who care about others, understand their place in the world and have the confidence to make a positive difference. We want these values to be seen not just in what we say, but in how we live and learn together every day.

We are proud to be a diverse and inclusive school community. We want every child and every family to feel that St Mary Redcliffe is a place where they belong. We celebrate diversity, nurture individuality and hold a shared belief that every child can flourish. Alongside that sense of belonging sits a strong sense of purpose: we want our children to leave us better prepared for the opportunities, responsibilities and possibilities that lie ahead.

As Headteacher, I am ambitious for our school and for every person within it. I want St Mary Redcliffe C of E Primary School to be a place where children love to learn, where staff are proud of the work they do and where families feel confident that their children are in safe, capable and caring hands. A place where kindness and high standards sit comfortably alongside one another, and where everyone is encouraged to be the best version of themselves.

There is so much to be proud of at St Mary Redcliffe and the exciting future ahead. We will build on our strengths, embrace improvement and never lose sight of what matters most: giving every child the opportunity to flourish.

I hope that, as you explore our website and learn more about St Mary Redcliffe C of E Primary School, you will get a sense of the ambition, warmth and care that runs through our school. Better still, come and experience it for yourself on one of our open mornings as an existing parent or carer, or one of our school tours if you are considering sending your child to our school in the future. Walk through our corridors, meet our children and staff, see our values in action and discover what makes this community so special.
